Match Report |
28ish Isca athletes enjoyed a Boxing Day turkey trot playing three 20 minute games: dads and lads v the rest; a split down the middle by age and finally all the youngsters v the not quite so young. Scores? I've no idea although Albie scored twice; but all the games were pretty even with some glorious hockey played. Many thanks to Pete for herding the sheep on the day and forming and reforming us into the teams; to the umpires (particularly for stopping any grudge or revenge tackles twixt lads and dads); to Fin for collecting the pitch keys before Christmas; to Kirsten, Charlie and Adrian Smallie for divergent creative problem solving when the entry code system failed us - and yes I had got the right code! And thank you all those who laid on mince pies, mulled wine and some seriously yummy raspberry gin afterwards. And lastly thanks to everyone who played for their competitive and cheerful sportsmanship and for sticking to the Covid-19 SPACE rules. A glorious kick start to hockey after Christmas excesses. Just a delight to help make it happen. VMT. Mike
