The U16 girls headed up to Millfield to play Mid-Somerset (aka Millfield) in their first match of the EH Cup. As expected the girls were enthusiastic from the start, with warm up music blaring so loud that Anne and I could hardly hear ourselves think! We dominated the first 10 mins keeping them well within their defensive half and after keeping up the pressure we were rewarded with a goal 10 minutes before half time from super goal hanger Freya Norman. The girls were buzzing and keen to keep up the momentum, which they did with a second goal from Shea Clark early in the 2nd half. Keeping the Mid Somerset under control we continued to challenge their keeper from all angles....(if we had taken Anne's advice and 'moved the keeper' we would have been up by 8 goals!!). Again Freya 'goal hanger' Norman slotted away another tip in which was then closely followed by an absolute screamer from Maddie Schuchter on the edge of the circle. All in all a great start to the season and the girls were fantastic. Lets hope Boris keeps sport going now!
